In May 2018 we organized the 7th hands-on introductory course to Head & Neck Surgery of the UMC Utrecht Cancer Center.
We originally started this course for ENT residents in The Netherlands and Belgium in 2011 and since then it has grown in popularity, now attracting participants from the rest of Europe and beyond. The course language is English. The combination of lectures, instructional videos and hands-on cadaver dissection gives you the opportunity to practice your skills and engage your knowledge.
The course for this year is made up of a combination of lectures, instructional surgery videos and a hands-on cadaver dissection. It is designed for senior residents, fellows or young staff members in ENT or maxillo-facial surgery. We will cover the work up, multidisciplinary management and follow-up of patients suffering from cancers of the oral cavity, oro/hypopharynx, larynx and salivary glands. We will guide the participants in a step-wise dissection of a neck dissection, total laryngectomy and parotidectomy.
