ENTUK have validated a telephone triaging system and service evaluation for head and neck cancer patients. Given the current move towards telephone consultations for both new and follow-up patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, more widespread awareness of the tool might be of benefit. Preliminary data indicates a >85% reduction in outpatient face-to-face consultations. For those of you not familiar with the concept the rationale can most easily be found on page 5 of the protocol.
